I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t fascinated by design and color. Growing up, my parents owned a chain of children’s furniture stores, and I loved helping them create floor displays and decide what to feature in the windows. That early exposure taught me the power of thoughtful design to transform a space and create an experience.
When I started Emily Harmatz Design Studio, my focus was primarily residential design. My goal was to help clients create beautiful, functional living spaces that reflected their lifestyles and personal tastes. Over time, that focus has naturally expanded. Today, our work goes beyond interiors to include full-home renovations, additions, and hands-on construction management -- allowing me to guide every project from concept to completion.
I have always loved the transformation process. Whether it’s a kitchen remodel, building something entirely new, or simply reimagining an existing space, I am passionate about creating environments that feel fresh, functional, and elegant. I never tire of seeing how thoughtful design can breathe new life into old spaces and elevate the way people live.
After more than 15 years in this industry, I genuinely love every aspect of the work: design, planning, renovation, decoration, and on-site project management. Each project is an opportunity to combine creativity with practical problem-solving, delivering a result that is both beautiful and meaningful.
